The Winthrop Food Pantry is located at 10 Cross Road in Winthrop, Maine. We serve residents of Winthrop and Wayne, Maine.

WE’RE HIRING: Executive Director

The Winthrop Food Pantry is looking for its next Executive Director to lead our day-to-day operations and our team of about 65 dedicated volunteers serving families in Winthrop and Wayne.

This part-time (about 30 hours per week), salaried position is a great fit for an organized, people-focused leader with ties to our community. Grant writing and fundraising campaigns are led by our Board, so this role focuses on operations, volunteers, and community partnerships.

Our Operations

We are open every Thursday afternoon from 12:00 – 2:30. In addition, we are open for evening hours on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 5:00-6:30.

We are operating with curbside pickup only.  You do not need to call ahead.  We give out prepared boxes of shelf-stable food along with bread, fresh produce, eggs, cheese, and frozen meat.  Diapers and feminine care will also be provided.  Kids Packs are available for pickup every week.

Please follow the signs to get in the service line. Stay in your vehicle and we will meet with you. When it’s your turn you will pull up to the outside check-in table.  We will load an outside table with your boxes and bags, and you will also have the opportunity to choose any miscellaneous items we have. 

Our Location

Thanks to the help of many volunteers, the Winthrop Food Pantry has moved to our new location in the Winthrop Office Center at 10 Cross Road. Cross Road is directly across Route 202 from the entrance to the Winthrop Transfer Station.

Our old location on High Street served us well for over 30 years, but our new space is nearly double the size and allows us to more efficiently serve our customers.

Emergency Food Boxes

In the event you find yourself out of food before our Thursday service day, please know that we keep emergency food boxes at the Winthrop Police Department and the Wayne Town Office. You can just go there and ask for a box. The emergency food boxes contain a variety of shelf stable goods that will help you get by until you can come to the Food Pantry on the next Thursday.
